It's almost the end of the year, a time to look back and reflect on the year that was 2010....
The one thing that stands out, head and shoulders above anything else, is that the newly elected condem(ed) government is a thing to be feared. Cold, unfeeling and out of touch. Intent on making us all pay for the total fuck up their banking friends caused, by targeting the most needy in society, cheerfully helped along by the indignant tripe written by the middle-class wanna be Viz publication - The Daily Fail. With the bit between it's teeth, the government are going all out to target benefit cheats, single parents, the disabled, the happy to be idle brigade and, just to make it fair, taking child benefit payments from those that can least afford it - those lucky enough to earn over the £44,000 mark. Yeah right Dave, that's totally fair - YOU IGNORANT TWAT.
This year we've had rioting on the streets, with the Met's finest cheerfully kettling kids, smacking one on the head and then objecting to him being treated in the hospital where their bully boys were being treated (because it may upset these gentle, sensitive souls) and chucking a disabled protester out of his wheelchair because he was rolling 'menacingly' towards them. It was heartening to see that the coppers are still being totally impartial and will whack anything that moves. How dare those uppity students complain that they are going to be saddled with huge debts when they leave education. Serves them right, they should have a rich mummy and daddy to pay their way through university. We wouldn't want the poor and undeserving thinking they had a right to try to better themselves now would we? Keep them down in the gutter where they belong, they're going to be needed in the factories, opened by rich, tory donating, entrepreneurs, to take over the traditional roles of Taiwan and China, making the much needed plastic crap that is so in demand for crimbo crackers and McMurder's happy meal toys.
We've also had the excitement of the whistle-blowing WikiLeaks and the furore surrounding the arrest of the international man of mystery and evil rapist (?) that is Julian Assange. Poor old Bradley Manning appears to have faded into the background. Surely the treatment he's now enduring should be all over the front pages, after all he's the one who provided the proof of what we already knew - that the United States government has no respect for any other society and are intent on taking what they want, by any means necessary. Some say that WikiLeaks is nothing more than a CIA operation, others can't praise it enough. Personally I'm on the fence but will happily jump on the praising bandwagon when they release something really worthwhile, such as the truth of what is going on with Israel and Palestine. Something just doesn't feel right about it to me and I'm waiting with baited breath for the next installment, it's certainly more interesting than X-Factory.
This brings me onto my biggest bugbear The Cult of Celebrity. WTF is going on ??? The likes of toilet-attendant assaulting Cheryl Cole (pretty on the outside, rotten on the inside) who is being lauded as 'the nation's sweetheart' and other comely but talentless puppets being forced down our throats at every opportunity. Who really gives a shit what they are wearing or who they are screwing around with? Millions of children are being brainwashed into believing that it's how you look, rather than the person you are, that matters. Let's be honest here, we're just brainwashing them early to get them into the mindset of 'we must conform' to whatever standards the media are setting or we are going to fail in life, and we all know who really controls the popular press.
Personally 2010 had it's ups and downs for me. Went to a few festivals plying (little spinning joke there, just to lighten the mood) my trade and gearing up for a life of self-employment, home educating The Boy (or rather leaving him to it and helping when needed), listening to Welshy hone his already magnificent farting skills, getting to grips with my spinning wheel, laughing at the dancing sheep and basically sitting back and shaking my head at the dumbing down of society.
So what will 2011 bring? I'm just going to have to wait, along with everyone else, to find out.
Happy New Year everyone :-)

Here we go then....
After a couple of facebook rants, I have decided to start my own little blog so I can let rip at anything and everything I choose. Nothing is pissing me off at the moment, so I'll just start with this.
Anyone who can be bothered to read this should be aware that I have strong views on certain things, so there may be the occasional word that makes your hair curl. Many of you will probably not agree with some of the things I have to say, but I don't really care. This is my page and if you want to state your opinions, then get your own fecking page!
Enough for now, be sure to check back regularly as I've meetings with the Local Education Authority and Jobcentre Plus coming up soon, so no doubt there will be a rant or two on the way.
